Despite increased competition from global retailers, Benny's, a retail institution for generations of southern New England families, continues to expand.

In Mansfield, MA, on Friday November 8, 2003, Benny's opened the doors to its 31st store. Long known for an eclectic selection of merchandise from automotive to toys, hardware to gardening, the new 20,000 square foot Benny's store, is slightly larger than the typical Benny's store. In addition, the new store in Mansfield is the first Benny's store to go live with the new Retail Merchandise Management System MI9 Merchant from MI9 Inc. After an in depth selection process, Benny's selected MI9 Merchant based upon it's functionality, scalability and ease of use. The implementation of MI9 Merchant was completed in just 10 weeks. MI9 Merchant will be rolled out across the entire Benny's organization over the next few months.

Founded in 1924, Benny's has lived by the principals of low prices, selection and friendly, helpful service. Spokesperson Arnold Bromberg points to Benny's successful formula over the last eight decades as the reason for Benny's incredible staying power. "For nearly a century, our goal has been to take care of our customer," said Bromberg. "Give them value at the lowest possible price."
